D.C. BLUES

Well the first thing I learned about presidents,

They made a lot of dollars but they made no sense,

And I was a baby, sucking up all the news,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Well, Washington's face was on the dollar bill,

A donkey's ass was on Capitol Hill,

And I was in grade school, squirming in the pews,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then a whole lot of women kissed JFK,

But Vietnam screwed LBJ,

And I was in high school, learning how to snooze,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then Ford used his head like a baseball bat,

While Nixon was in bed trying to get it down pat,

And I was in the Village, thinking I'd paid my dues,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then Reagan's in the White House taking a nap,

Carter's in the outhouse taking the wrap,

And I'm here in my house taking my time -- with you,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then Bush was on the throne with the CIA,

And the FBI and the KKK,

And I was on a plane with the ILBCNU,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then Clinton’s on the Hill, perfecting his craft,

With Flowers on his lap and an intern on his staff,

And a four-inch brain, with his pants down to his shoes,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Then Bush and Chaney played a game called war,

But they used real people, I don’t know what for,

Preaching peace, with a “nucular” point of view,

And it was so easy to get them D.C. Blues.

Now Barack is in Irag and Afghanistan,

He’s saving the banks with my pension plan,

Biden time - precedentedly confused,

Eisenhower eyed ‘em, Truman truly tried ‘em,

Roosevelt denied ‘em, Hoover had to hide ‘em,

And it’s so easy to get them D.C. Blues.
