SO MUCH TIME, SO LITTLE TO DO

Well I don’t care about much these days,

I’m taking it easy in my usual way,

If I can do it next week then it’s perfectly clear,

That I can do it next month or I can do it next year,

Sometimes I feel the urge to get dressed,

Then I remember what I love best,

Fluffin’ up my pillow, kickin’ off my shoes,

Bracing myself for an all-day snooze,

So much time, so little to do,

A sip of wine, then a glass or two,

Daydream a little, massage my feet,

Watch my fingernails grow, think of something to eat,

I tuned this guitar back in 2003,

One string a month was enough for me,

It’s almost time to tune it again,

Just a couple more years ‘til 2010,

I spotted some crumbs on the living room floor,

The highlight of my 2000 and 4,

My eyes told my mind that the crumbs were there,

But my butt sold my brain a reclining chair,

So much time….

I was eating a pear back in ’99,

Forgot what I did, I lost track of time,

I found that pear, some three years later,

It was sprouting a tree in the refrigerator,

One night I decided to pour me a drink,

Focused my eyes on the kitchen sink,

Before you know it and it makes me laugh,

I was snoring in bed after a three-day bath,

So much time, so little to do,

A sip of wine, then a glass or two,

Daydream a little, massage my feet, watch

My fingernails grow, think of something to eat,

How about a little wine, a lotta love, right here in this hall,

Or singing Ninety-Nine Bottles of Beer on the Wall,

Yeah, with so much time and oh so little to do.
